Eileen Consorti

About Me

Eileen Consorti, MD, has offered surgical oncology services from her private practice in Berkeley, California, since 2005. Holding certification from The American Board of Surgery and California medical licensure, she began practicing in the state in 2002. After serving with Kaiser Permanente for one year, she joined the practice of Dr. Lisa Bailey in 2003 and accepted a teaching position with the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) in the Department of Surgery. Now managing her own practice, Eileen Consorti, MD, continues to contribute to the faculty at UCSF while serving several other area medical centers. In addition to being on staff at Alameda Hospital and the Summit Medical Center, Dr. Consorti took over at the Chair of Surgery at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in 2010, where she previously was the Chief of General Surgery. As a well-respected medical professional, Eileen Consorti, MD, participates with a variety of professional organizations. Most of these groups focus on topics pertaining to surgery and cancer, including The American Society of Breast Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the Association of Women Surgeons, and the Society of Surgical Oncology.

Before returning to California to practice medicine, Eileen Consorti, MD, resided in Houston, Texas, for several years. She originally came to the region to conduct research at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center after winning a training grant from the National Institute of Health. Dr. Consorti subsequently stayed in the area to advance her skills and knowledge of general surgery as a Resident at University of Texas Medical School at Houston. After completing the program and acting as the Chief Resident, Eileen Consorti, MD, continued her research at the institution while working in the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, where she also contributed as a member of the Breast Diagnostic Committee.

An alumnus of Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, Eileen Consorti, MD, earned her Doctor of Medicine from the institution and completed her postgraduate training at the University of Minnesota Medical School. She also holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from California State University and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from San Diego State University.
